How safe are PCs? My impression from this forum is that it`s pretty safe. My best guess is other orbitals can be dangerous in the hands of a beginner. Do you agree?

anything is dangerous in the hands of anybody. however, a PC is the most fool proof polisher I`ve ever come across. I would suggest that to a newbie over these other orbitals that sell for 19.95 on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart any day of the week. Its a high quality tool that will produce professional results.

Your choice of pads and compounds will dictate the probability of damage to your paint more than the tool itself...

Unless you drop it on your car or use it without a pad, of course..

very true - a wool pad and some harsh rubbing compound would obviously do some damage. using a white or yellow pad and something like 3M SMR or equivalent is tough to do irreversible damage without trying, basically.
