I just had my front bumper and fender repainted about a month ago. It had protection put on it, but now when I wash it, the areas don`t waterbead as well. I read that waxing would have to wait 2-3 months before applied. The bodyshop guy I took it to said that waxing would not harm the paint...it would only slow down the curing process of the paint. Is this true? If not, then what can I put on it if that protection only lasts for say...6 weeks? Any suggestions would be appreciated......V :)

Hi,

The bodyshop guy didn`t lie:)

Safest thing to do is to put a bodyshop-safe glaze on the repainted parts.

Glazes are by nature not durable, but then again the repainted area isn`t that huge, so, reglazing shouldn`t take that amount of time.

I am currantly(sp?) in the same situation and I`ve put 3M Perfect-it III finishing Glaze on the repainted parts.

I wrote a review about it:http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15856

Hope this helps
