Hello all!

I`ve been hunting around for a PC 7336 in Canada without any luck. I don`t want to buy from the states because of the costs of shipping and customs. Does anyone know where I can find a local dealer? I live in the Toronto area.

Thanks!

Have you conducted a SEARCH here at Autopia for a list of Canadian dealers? It`s a subject that`s been discussed many times.

Why don`t you just take a trip to Niagara Falls new yawk? Its only an hour away? There has to be a Lowes or something in that area. If not, you could always drive another 30 min to the Amhearst NY area. There has got to be a dealer somewhere in Western NY!:up Good luck and let us know how it works out.

I don`t know if it`s the 7336, but Canadian Tires sells 2 different PC RO buffers. they`re about 200-250 if I remember.

I would be happy to pick one up at my local Lowes, and ship it out to you.

PM me if you are interested.

As said, try the search engine with "toronto porter cable" and see what comes up. Also, you can go to the PC website and there`s an area that will list dealers in your area. Then grab a phone book and start asking around. Also check places listed under Tools and Building Supplies in the phone book. Canadian Tire does not sell the 7336. When you get some price around $175 you`re doing good!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I searched both "porter cable toronto" and "porter cable canada". The second search turned up one source, Home Hardware. The price quoted by 4DSC is $210 which doesn`t seem that great if you`re suggesting $175 as a good price. I know Canadian Tire sells the 7424, but my PC research on this site (i.e. 4DSC`s kick *** thread) tells me to get the 7336 instead and the CMA kit to match. I tried calling around a few local places (I live in Kitchener, Ontario.. about 1 hour away from Toronto) but very few people carry Porter Cable, let alone their line of sanders.

Oh, but I just did I search for dealers on the PC website.. I dunno why I didn`t think of that earlier. Doh! Thanks! Duh.. There`s are tons of places on the website.. sigh. Okay I`m gonna call all these places tomorrow! I`m so excited! :)

BTW: I dryed my car for the first time with my leaf blower/wet vac which I just picked up from Home Depot (amazing vac btw). What a great trick! So much better than that crappy "Absorber" I`d been using. :)

edit: I forgot to thank thevolvoguy for your offer! but I`d like to get it locally incase I break it and need to return it. :)

Happy shopping spincycle. :) Sometimes they can order it in if they don`t normally stock it. And don`t limit your search to what`s on the PC website. All you have to do is phone a place and ask if they sell PC - that`s what I did.

I only say $175 is good because at the current exchange rate it`s close to the well-priced and often mentioned Lowes price of $110 US.

I think the two PCs Zilla mentioned at CT have got to be the 7424 and their 7" rotary polisher (forget what model). You just have to read the product descriptions I think.

Don`t forget that the 7424 and 7336 are exactly the same machine. Only diffs are what accessories come in the box and the counterweight which is not a deal-breaker.

Those that live in areas where PC are scarce should not worry about which model to buy. If one is easier to get than the other, buy it and buff happy.
