Ok you Rotary Guys I am thinking of asking Santa to put one of these under my tree this year.
What do you think about it?

I have a PC 7336 Dual Action Polisher (Orbital) for almost a year now.
I am thinking of learning the Rotary Polishing Technique now. I have used a Rotary maybe twice, ever but would love to learn and practice. I have some friends and family with older cars/trucks that would more than happy to let practice. Plus I work part time at a used car dealer with alot of auction cars. They would love for me to master the Rotary thing.
Would this be a good one to start with?
CMA has raved about it and I have had good luck with there reviews.

That machine look killer. I was drooling over it just the other day. If you want a rotary I`d think that one would be a winner.

It looks so much like the Makita 9227C except for the horizontal speed control... hmmm... but it weighs a little more than the 9227C

CMA says it incorporates features of both the Makita and the DeWalt (Black and Decker).

I`ve used the DeWalt, PC, Milwaukee and Makita i prefer the DeWalt. It`s light well built and the speed is easy to set. The DeWalt has the actual speed setings written on the dial, not just numbers, so you don`t need to guess.

I agree with Andre`. I also prefer the DeWalt. Even this new PC unit still has the speed setting listed in numbers 1-9 instead of actual speed. :down

yhea, that PC looks a LOT like the makita.
I have the makita and love it. I think as long as you buy a quality tool then you`ll be fine.

It`s slowest is 1000RPM? That`s kinda fast.

Not really, most rotary buffers start at 1000 RPM.

The Makita 9227CB starts at 600RPM:xyxthumbs

The makita presets at 600, but can start from 0 due to the clutch... :)

I have the 7428 and I think it`s a great buffer. Mine has the side handle. You can controll the speed with the trigger too, incase you really want to slow it down.
PC, DeWalt, Makita, they are all good brands, it`s personal preference.
Christiaan - Do you actually buff at 600 RPM`s?

I have this information via a brochure, I do not yet own a Makita.
It`s on my wish-list for Santa.
But I do think it`s a usefull feature for applying stuff.
