View Full Version : wut type of polish to remove hard water spots???

i jus got ma car bout a month ago and there was alot of hard water spots mainly on the hood. ive tried claybar and vinegar to no avail. its really noticeable at night under direct light, so annoyin. is there any kind of polish that can remove this?? ive heard of 3m IHG and Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover. will any of these work and is there anyting that can help??? pleez any help is welcome. thx

I`ve had similar problems. I doubt the IHG will touch them, but the #9 could work. I used some #82 Swirl Free Polish with the white pad on a PC and this easily removed them. The #9 is a touch lighter than 82 I believe so this may be a good starting point.

Yup, all those should work. Consider these:



3M Finesse It 2 machine polish

Meguiar`s #2 Fine Cut cleaner

Meguiar`s #83 DACP

Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion



It really depends on what it will take to remove them. It might take some experimenting. But just about all of these should work pretty well.

3M Medium Oxidation remover gets rid of hard water marks in a flash... :)

I used Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner and it took my water spots off with ease.
