Here in the next week or two I have a 2002 BMW Z3 to detail. Problem I am going to encounter is that they just had the vehicle pinstriped a month ago, not a vinyl type of pinstriping, but one that is painted on. I believe it is an acrylic type paint. My question is, what can use on this paint and not harm it?

Obviously I`m not going to be taking the PC near it, or any kind of abrsive, but is it safe to use a mild polish, or wax on it. I would guess that I don`t want to use a cleaner wax on it, for fear of removing the pinstriping. Would I be safe using #26 on it?

Any ideas, or anybody encounter this problem?:nixweiss

No ideas?

All the detailing expertise on this board, I`m sure someone has come across the pinstriping dilema.

I would just do as you said above and keep the PC away from it. I also don`t see why the wax would be unsafe for the stripe...if the wax doesn`t have any cleaning properties then my guess is that it will be completely safe, just apply it by hand to that area.
