I had written to Meguiars, asking them about which form of #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax is likely to last longer, the liquid or the paste. Here is Meguiars response:

"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your interest in our products. With

regards to which wax will last longer liquid or paste I would have to say that they will perform the same. Neither one will outlast or bead the other. With Meguiar`s waxes both pastes and liquid forms are designed so they both have the same performance levels. Thank you for choosing Meguiar`s as your surface care experts. Have a wonderful day.

Agreed, paste is better for durability. Liquid waxes contain many solvents and emulsifiers to keep the caranuba in a liquid state, thus reducing durability.

I, too, feel that paste lasts longer than liguid. Plus, I`ve delt with Meguiar`s tech support before, and Joe Day in particular. Nice people, especially Joe, but you don`t always get the same answer from them. Email them again, and you may get a different answer.

Liquid wax is only 3-5% wax as the rest of it is keeping the liquid form stable while a cheaper Meguiar`s or whatever wax is going to be <37%>32% wax. The thicket the longer it will last PERIOD.

I saw a pretty extensive test done regarding liquid versus paste and the liquid won out as far as length of time.

Your caveman backwards thinking brain is going to say “thicker is better, lasts longer.â€But that`s not true, your meathead will also think “carnuba lasts long.†Uhm... wrong again, synthetics last longer.

Im going to write gurureports and suggest they do a test of exactly this....Since there are some waxes which come in both liquid and paste, they shold be able to construct a decent test...As of now, you get posts like yours, which claims liquids are the stronger, and you get alot more who claim that pastes are the stronger. So, we need some more evidence....

From what I have always heard the liquid waxes are made to be easier to use. They go on and come off with less effort, however at the price of durability. Were not talking about a huge difference but its not the same as paste.

Is it also true that its possible to get a better overall shine/gloss with natural carnauba based waxes but they just wont last as long? Providing that you know what you’re doing, flat out what gets the better gloss, carnauba or synthetics? :nixweiss

Never mind durability, most people on here probably wax their cars once a month at least†:xyxthumbs
