It seems I have no idea how to use the search function properly. Since I see the constant "use the search before you ask" comments, I have to assume that other people make it work.

Query: UV Protection

Response: UV is not enough characters.

Query: Ultra Violet Protection

Response: 1 thread pertaining to this subject on the entire site.

I find that hard to believe.

This is just one example, but it does illustrate the problem I have using the search feature. We won`t even go into the different names and terms that are used by people for the same basic product or procedure.

Is it just me? What am I doing wrong?

That`s always been one of the limitations of the search function. It requires 3 characters. You`ll have to work around it by search another word first. Try reversing the search like Protection UV and things like that.

Oops, just tried that and it doesn`t work either. Maybe one of the mods can help.

New note: Ahh...use the asterisk. Like this...UV* Protection.

I found these:

Two letter searches are tough...I have yet to figure them out...

The reason for a min of three letters is so you get relevent threads from a more descriptive word...kinda a catch 22....

I would play with the wild card thingys after UV and see how that works...
