Don`t you think all the different kinds of Zymol is just about the same but maybe the add a different color carnuba or change the fourmula a little. Now the have a carnuba for $7800.give me a break. They have to be the biggest scam artists of the century

Thats about right. $7800 huh?? Well I could trade in my Volvo and even have about 2k left over to buy their $1100 wax. Why would someone buy a wax thats worth more than their cars? Just go chop down a carnauba tree and make it yourself. hehe :bounce

I dont know, Zymol has been around forever and has always been a very well respected name in car care. I would`nt suggest the company is scamming anyone, if you cant afford it or dont agree with the claims, dont buy it. I will say I never have and probably never will use it, so I`m not sticking up for it. (unless I get some carbon for next to nothing)

This board doent seem to care much for it but it has always been expensive and has certianly stood the test of time. I can understand the elevated price seeing as how most of the higher end wax is 100% natural, using natural oils and carriers rather than harsh petrochemical ingredients. As far as it all being the same, you can say that about any carnuba wax but at the end of the day we all use what we like and can afford. I cant see spending thousands for wax but someone must buy it or they wouldnt keep it around.

My friend bought expensive Zymol wax for his uncle.I bought some Zymol a few years back for 150$ and $200 believe me when I tell you that its the same as P21S or souvern no difference in shine or finish but to charge 7800 for wax what are they thinking??????????

just cuz something costs alot of money does not mean it is better....sure you get what you pay for....but to a certain extent....i`ll get flamed for this - but personally i think most zymol users use it cuz they think it is good since it costs and arm and a leg, brand name they know, or they haven`t used anything else. Everyone i know that has used it hates it after trying other things like zaino, p21s, etc.

Av,

You make some valid points and yes, this board has never been easy on Zymol. I plan to purchase a can of Concours sometime soon, just to see what all the fuss is about and to see if the shine is noticeably better than my $15 dollar can of Blitz and my $25 can of P21S.

However, I just have to ask... What do you mean when you say natural carriers and natural oils? Their waxes have a 30-35% carnauaba content...so obviously it must have a good amount of solvent as well, but are you saying that their solvents are made of natural ingredients as opposed to being petroleum or mineral spirits based?

IMO, their two waxes which shatter the $1,000 mark are used primarily for marketing purposes.

All I know if that the $1.99 baseball that you can buy at Kmart is about the same as the one that someone will pay over a million dollars for that is used and hit out of the park by a particular person. Some people pay millions for a sweaty old shirt or a used & broken guitar. Many many folks pay over $50K per year to get the "priviledge" of playing golf (which they have to pay additional fees later) on a particular course. My point? People have $, and people spend it how they want. Worry about yourself, not them.

Avalanche said it right.

Belicose can you post pictures of the cars?

If you have the Atlantique on a BMW, I will post pics of Souveran on mine and we can compare

I do realize that it cant be that great of a comparison since different cameras, lights etc, but it will still be interesting.

Intermezzo,

Yes, instead of using silicones, glycerine, or petro oils they supposedly use coconut, bananna, and other natural oils and extracts. To make the carnuba usable they use some kind of extract from honey bee wax that bees produce to make their own wax pliable and formable. There are some writings on the better zymols out there its pretty interesting reading. Like I said I dont ever see me using them, (although I am hounded by a curiousity about zymol carbon) but they sure arent a flash in the pan as evidenced by their lengthy and respected tenure in the car care industry. :nixweiss

And I spent 7 hours today detailing a dark blue BMW with Zaino Z-5 with ZFX (97 with 50K on it, swirls galore. Had to use PC lambswool pad and clear coat compound, didn`t even remove 50% of the swirls, lightened them, but after an hour on the hood I gave up and just Z-5/ZFX the car.) I have lots of pictures, would like to compare them to Zymol and Souveran, not in the same league, just want to compare shine and think about stuff while I walk on guard duty for hours on end.......

You have to remember that these upper end "Estate Glazes" are not designed for your average daily driver. Many of these were used on Pebble Beach Concours winners cars. Owners send them a chip on paint and Zymol formulates the wax for it. Granted all of the Zymol line is expensive but it works well. It may not give you the bang for you buck that Pinnacle or Blitz gives you but it performs very well when applied correctly.

JasonC8301:

Here are a couple pictures of BMWs I have done with Zymol. Hopefully they will show up.

I can`t find the $7800 wax on zymol`s site it was probably a misprint. I have used carbon and hd-cleanse with excellent results. I use blackfire now just for the hopefully increased durability, though I will probably top it with carbon when i get a chance. Carbon put on with the pc looks IMHO incredible.

The concours looks great, but I`m sure souveran is similar. Isn`t carbon for darker colors, or is that the carbon creme for light?
