I am a newbie to the detailing world and have heard of wet sanding, what exactly is this procedure? Thanks

These types of questions should probably be in the University forum. But here is a link that has pics and explains it well. Try doing searches on the various topics which are general. You`ll find that most have been talked about at length. And then if you have a specific question about something someone did, then post about that specific detail. You will then find that you get much better answers.
