I am going to clean and improve the appearance of the a friends 92 caprice. The car has been parked for the 3 1/2. The paint is oxidized, very dirty and in need of help. In the past before being parked the car wash wax with Megs Cleaner wax.

I took the car to the self wash and pressure washed the car then hand washed with dawn.

I need validation with the rest of attack plan ( I have not work on a car in this condition before):

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. PPCL

4. FI-2

5. PI-3 MG

6. KAIO

7. KSG

Does that sound like a good plan? I was think about buying some DACP or other paint cleaner. There is numerous paint chips, which we will work on over time.

The right side of the car has been repaint and recleared, is there any special precautions I need to take? The repaint and clear where done a long time ago.

Here are several pics of the car. I have resized the pics to make them a little more dial up friendly.

I just love the Porsche 930, to bad it is not driven enough and it not red.

Last one, this engine bay should not be looked at by those faint of heart. Any volunteers?

I think that car is ready for Monster Garage, maybe they could turn it into this:

The guy that owns the web site is a LS1 owner, he just put up my car on his site because he liked mine.

Wow Ed! You`ve got a huge project ahead!! You must be a great friend!!

Looks like you have a good plan, just going to take some serious time. Are those pits & scratches on the hood or just mud prints from the cat? I couldn`t tell by the pic.

Can`t wait to see the "afters!" Good luck!

Kevo,

Nice car, I have always likes the 94-96 Impala SS`s. Before I moved my neighbor had 4 impalas and a caddy brogham in their family. That makes a total of 6 b-bodies including this wagon. I am trying to convince my brother to mod the wagon.

Maybe I should try Zaino on the car, many B-Body people are using Zaino.
