I want to clean up my mother`s tires which are really filthy. She has white sidewalls. Will soap and water with a good brush and some elbow grease do the trick? Would some Simple Green help/hurt?

When I get them clean and dried off I was going to put some 303 to `em and then put Turtle Wax tire gel over the 303. Will this work on whitewalls?

I am open to suggestions!

If you don`t have any heavy duty cleaners, like EF Hi-Intensity, I would suggest you simply use a few SOS pads and water. The fine steel wool in the SOS pad will clean the white walls really well. Fast and cheap way to achieve good looking results.

For a one-time deal, the SOS pads are OK. So is Simple Green, Comet, or Ajax. I`d never use them frequently as they do too much damage to tires.

For regular cleaning use EFHI or Eagle One Tire Cleaner (may favorite product in the whole wide world). Mothers just came out with a tire cleaner so use that if you can find it.
