Anyone here try both. I`d like to know if the red bar is a lot stronger. i have lots of stuff on my hood including overspray from the highway paint so I think the red bar would do a much better job.

I am also having a tuff time finding the red bar.

Autozone has the blue bar

Yes the Red Bar is much stronger, it will probably leave visable marring on the surface that will need to be polished out.

i use the blue claymagic from autozone and have 4 x z5, and 6 x z2 on my car, when i decided to spot clay:rolleyes:

this was the bigest mistage ever, it left maring in the surface that z5 did not hide, i have not tried smr or anything yet,

:doh , no more spot claying for me

You will find the red bar at automotive paint suppliers. Look in your yellow pages for a finish masters or anyone else.

I got 100 grams of the red bar and 200 grams of the blue bar and some Meguiars Pro overspray clay around here somewhere.

I`ll PM you later....

I have never used clay before. But will soon. Can someone explain to me what spot claying means?

it means you only do spots on the car, areas have visible contamination on them.

i never seen that problem because, i always clay before machine buffing:nixweiss

www.automagic.com makes Clay Magic (or has it made is a better term) The red bar is abrasive and will remove paint, the blue bar is non abrasive and consumer freindly, the car will more than likely have to be machine buffed after using the red bar.

The blue clay magic is a good product, if you use the correct amount of lube and keep the surface wet while claying you should not harm the paint in any way. BTW, you do not have to use the clay lube provided with the kit, it is loaded with silicone, you can just use some car wash (1 cap full) in 20 ounces of water to make your own clay lube.
