I recently read on another forum that someone recommended using toothpaste to clean a smeared windscreen. This sounds crazy, but also crazy enough to work.
Anyone any thoughts?

I know that toothpaste will remove some scratches in glass. Rub a little toothpaste into the scratch. (Normally geltype pastes are not as effective as regular pastes.) Polish with a soft cloth.

:D Use a flouride toothpaste and your windsheild will not get cavities!
PS: Don`t forget to floss under the wiper blades! :D

LOL gonzo!
yeah toothpaste acts as a mild polish on glass and plastic (more mild than, say, Zaino glass polish and/or plastic polish.) So if what you`ve got is a very minor problem it might work, but if its any more than that, "The Colgate Don`t Cut It, My Friend!!" :up

The original Crest light blue toothpaste works wonders on plastic convertible windows.

Try it on metals it does a great job on chrome. Cleans it up and leaves a great shine. I constantly use toothpaste to do the faucets in my house because of how well it cleans and shines. I might even give it try on my teeth.

Sorry guys, this is not a good idea at all! :nono The consistency of the abrasives in toothpaste is extremely poor. I`d rather use Finesse IT on my molars!:D

Try toothpase on metal and tell me if you get the same wonderful results I do. I have been thinking about doing my rims with it.
