Err... isn`t Downy a liquid fabric softener while Dawn is a liquid dish washing detergent?

Whoa, whoa.. Isn`t Downy a fabric softner? and Dawn a detergent?

I very highly doubt that using downy on a car would have the same effect as using dawn. For one, downy does not produce and suds, and would not rid the car surface of the old wax.

so let`s re-cap: DOWNY- makes clothes soft and snuggly

DAWN- cleans pots and pans, cuts through grease, and removes old wax from paint

There was a post on some other forum about that. There is a link to it in here somewhere. They said they used Downy, or something like that, on their car to make it soft or something. Its not a very good idea. It won`t do any good for your car.

Downy would leave a film on the car, not good.

Hey, look at it this way... Now if anyone does a search on "downy" then they`ll find this thread and their question will get answered too. :) Thanks for contributing! The only stupid questions are the ones that don`t get asked. :xyxthumbs
