View Full Version : Trying Zaino for the first time...

Ok well I just prepped the IS for Zaino Z5/ZFX. I did a gold class wash, then clay with gold class wash as a lube, then #9 2.0 with white pad via PC, and a dawn wash. The water would sit on the car for about 15-30 seconds then sheet off and I would be left with beads. Does that mean there is still some klasse/old simoniz on the car? Also would it be ok if I left the car till tommorow morning in the garage till i zaino. The car has been washed and dried. If so, is there any precautions I should take before zainoing in the morning(i am dead tired after today), like QDing or a simple wipe down? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

do you have Z7 or Z6 as part of your kit?? tomorrow I would do another wash with Z7 and dry it - then polish again (to be sure everything is gone since its still beading) final step would be Z6 right before you start to apply your Z5/ZFX. Be sure to apply about one squirt of Z6 to your applicator too, it helps make the application smoother/easier. :up

good luck, I`m sure you`ll love Z!

After Clay & #9 w/PC then DAWN, I doubt there is any more klasse/old simoniz/#9 fillers on the car. The beading you see is probably due to your car`s new paint so I wouldn`t worry too much.

Tomorrow I would suggest QD with Z6 before Zainoing to remove any minute amount of dusts on the surface (even in a garage), and Z may be a little easier to apply this way.

woah, that sounds like wayyy too much work. I think ill take william`s suggestion for just a quick Z6 and then zaino away.

If it were me I`d just Z6 then whatever. No real reason to wash again if only a night`s dust falls on the car.

I agree with William about the beading.

I only said a Z7 wash because the Z7 seems to make initial applications of Zaino stick to the finish even better than just a Z6 does in my experience (have done it both ways) ;)

well i got 2 coats out of 1/2 oz of Z5/ZFX, not bad for a newbie to zaino i guess, hehe. I wasnt all that impressed initially, until William420 gave me some tips. But man, the initial shine is very impressive. Look for my full product review later today. :xyxthumbs

Al- My Zaino should be arriving either tommrow or thursday. I am unbeliveably excited. I mean really.... I havent been this anxious since like the first day of Kindergarden :p I really hope it looks as great on red as you say it does on silver... I ordered the whole shabang(sp.?) and it went well over $100. I will post as soon as it gets here! :bounce

New to the forum, but not the product. Check out the Jimmy in the reflection of a dirty (pollen covered) s10...
