OK.. so I run out and buy a PC 7336SP from Lowes on an impulse. Then I remember that there are two different counterweight sizes: 5" and 6". Thinking that mine has the 5" CW, I begin searching for a 6" replacement. Well, I bought one.... but as it turns out, the "SP" model already has the 6" CW installed! However my loss is your gain... I figured out how to buy it locally if you need one (7424, 7335, 7336[non "SP" model]).

First I looked at CostalTools website (http://www.coastaltool.com/), and they sell it for $1.50 plus $6.50 S&H!!! So I decided to call a local Porter Cable Factory Service Center that I found here:

http://www.portercable.com/service/facserv.htm

The one nearest me (Houston, TX) had plenty in stock for $1.50, but they also wanted $6 for S&H! However, the guy was nice enough to give me the name of an independent shop in Austin, TX that does PC service (you can also find a list of these shops here: http://www.portercable.com/service/asc.htm).

Long story short, I bought one locally from a PC service shop for $1.60 and NO S&H!! Too bad I didn`t need it after all!

Hope some of you out there will find this helpfull.

EDIT: Whoops... almost forgot the most important part: the Porter Cable 6" Counterweight part number is: 699933

So does the 7336 have the 6" counterweight or just the 7336SP? I`m going to Lowes tonight but I`m not sure if they carry the SP model...

I bought a 7336 SP from Lowes last week. This was the only model that they had in stock. The 7336 and the 7336 SP both come with 6" counterweights. (I guess I should have made that clearer in my original post).

If you do a search for 7336 counterweight you will get lots of good info on the PC model/counterweight differences.
