I did a full detail on my vehicle about two weeks ago. Full detail meaning wash, clay, wash, polish, 3x NXT, wax. I live with in a mile of a factory. The truck is black, and I noticed tonight that it had little bumps all over it. I am assuming this is probably industrial fallout.

Anyway my ? is If I clay it now will I remove my sealeant and wax?

Is there something in PAC arsenal or Poorboy`s aresenal that I could use between full details?

Usually, clay removes wax and sealent. The only product I know of that stands up to it is Zaino. I`m supprised that it only took a week for it to get bad again. I clay my car every 3-4 months and it usually barly needs it when I do.

Does anybody have any ideas, or am I just screwed on this?

if you use Spray and Wipe on a daily basis , other than rainy days, you`ll have no problems...just make sure you have a nice collection of soft mf towels:)

Is it possible that the little bumps are tree sap instead of industrial fallout?

I would try using a QD spray daily. If the contaminants are fresh, you may be able to remove them this way. S&W would be a good choice for this.

[Edit: Steve typed faster than me. :D]

Possible it is tree sap, but I don`t usually park near tree`s. So clay would remove the sealants and waxes?

Clay would remove at least part of the sealants or waxes.

Tried alittle QD today and it removed it. Think the next time I call an order in there will be some S&W coming with it. Thanks

Yah Spray and Wipe Daily will take care of it - if it`s any industrial fall out then it`s possible it`s gone through the sealant or wax (even Zaino ;))... The longer any chemical is allowed to be on the finish it will eat up any sealant or wax

yes as Bird droppings will eat through anything, industrial fallout will too...if you are really into having your work last and you are under those conditions, a more constant maintenence program will be in order(S & W)...you can also use a car cover at work to help a little more...I would suggest a very light nylon one just to block the fallout, but you might also get a little surface marring if it is windy:dunno

I S&W daily...no bumbs in the finish.

Now.....about that crap that clay removes everything EXCEPT Zaino...that IS crap!! Zaino doesn`t last any longer than any other premium sealant. I`ve gone 6 months without adding anything to my EX and I was S&W`ing daily, and it still beaded like crazy.

Also....who says that claying removes sealants? Does this opinion come from someone that has measured this in some way or is it just somthing that someone said and everyone else decided to go along with it? I just can`t see how rubbing clay on the surface is going to pick up anything that isn`t sticking up from the surface. I think that removing the sealant would take a chemical remover or months of exposure to the enviornment where it would be gradually worn off. Where is there proof that clay removes anything but the bumps?

I don`t mean to be confrontive here....I`m just unconvinced.

I don`t mind bein confrontive but bein confrontive wasn`t the goal this time. :D I really DO want to get the definitive answer about claying removing sealant. Why would it?! How can it be proven either way?

I think you are right Jim...considering you are using a liquid lubricant and not really rubbing, i would find it hard to believe that a clay bar could remove anything other than bumbs(bumps) :D

I didn`t say that clay removes everything accept Zaino. I said Zaino was the only product that I know of that can stand up to clay. And I got that information from this interview with Sal...

Many other products may very well last though clay, but bassed on this interview and my own experience, Zaino is the only one that I know of.
