To any of you detailers out there.

I just got these new rims mounted and everything and there seems to be these fine scratches on them.

Most of them are on the outer lip. Their not to the bare metal and not that deep.

Any ideas on what I can use to try to get these out. I already tried "polishing compound" and I find myself rubbing harder than I should.

Please help......

Can you feel the scratches with your fingernail?

If so, paint is your answer, and no polish or rubbing compound will completely fix it.

Are the rims painted, alloy or chrome

If they are painted rims you can try some of meguiar`s scratch x and a MF. by hand you should be able to get out the marks or at least lighten them.

If it is chrome, dont waste your time, you will need to get them re-dipped for it to be repaired correctly.

If they have clearcoat treat them like paint on your car as the others stated.
