I plan to start detailing my car soon but have noticed that there are A LOT of swirl marks and small surface scratches, that have probably come from the harsh winter weather, on the car. The car has been Zainoed with a couple of coats since last year. Should I use the Z5 or should I go with something abrasive (i.e. Meguiar`s Scratch X, Mother`s Scratch remover, or Turtle Wax rubbing/Polishing compound)?

I live in Toronto, Canada and can`t seem to find any 3M products here.

Thanks

Hello Fellow Canadian. Try using the link below to Cantact 3M Canada to ask for a local dealer.

You should be able to get 3m products at Napa stores - or just follow Buldog`s suggestion and contact 3m.

Remove as many swirls as possible with the abrasives first.

Prep is the key!!!

I agree, remove as many as possible first. It may seem like a lot of work now, but the results will be well worth it.:up

What`s the better product to do this when the car is already Zainoed?? ( Z5, Meguiar`s Scratch X, Mother`s Scratch remover, or Turtle Wax rubbing/Polishing compound)?

Thanks

I do not think that having Zaino on it will effect whioch ever abrasive you use to remove swirls.

Also which is the best is hard to answer....Start with the least abrasive and work your way up until you are satisfied. Sometimes 2-3 applications with the least abrasive works better then a single application with a more abrasive.
