A brief run to Pep boys found a car care close out section that included "Gliptone Paste Wax" . Anyone ever tried this? Had a great smell to it and claimed to be "the world`s best wax". Sure. For only $5, is it worth a try? Thanks.

Gliptone Carnauba Paste Wax is made from pure Brazilian Carnauba wax. Carnauba Paste Wax produces an unequaled, superior shine with no yellowing or wax build-up. Contains no detergents, cleaners, harmful chemicals, synthetics, harsh abrasives, or film-forming materials. Easy to apply and remove. Safe for all types of finishes.

Long-lasting formula will outlast conventional waxes. Forms a non-stick Teflon barrier to guard against harmful elements. Produces a deep shine while providing protection against acid rain and harmful detergents. Easy to apply and easy to remove without hard rubbing. Clear coat safe.

If it is the carnauba wax, sure for $5 try it out. you might like it. I would not touch the second one with teflon if it was $1, but if it was free sure.

:up I used Gliptone Carnauba back in 90 when I bought my Nissan 240sx. A co-worker recommended it, who restored old vettes used this exclusively said it gave the best shine. Well back then he was right It really gave a great shine to my 240sx(candy red) and lasted quite a while. The stuff is easy on&off and does have a nice aroma. Hey if I find this stuff for $5 bucks I`ll buy it. I`ll try to find a pic I had of the 240 after I gliped it!

Later...........Syker

The Gliptone at Pep Boys for $5 was the Carnauba paste wax, not the Teflon variety. I`ll give it a try and compare with Blitz and P21S.

I`ll have to check my local Pep boys. For $5 Ill like to compare it also. If your going to fry eggs on a car I guess scrambled would be out of the question ? Ok, over easy. :D

Mike, I found the picture of my 240sx that I Glipped. I took a digital picture of the still I took in 1990. I wish I knew then what I know now about car care. But looking at this picture I didn’t do a bad job with just Westleys car wash , cotton towels , Gliptone pre wax cleaner & Gliptone Carnauba. Actually Gliptone was very nice to use, nice aroma, easy on & off. If I find it locally I would like to compare its durability to Blitz because it did give a great shine.
