Add a 300m Special to the list of cars that will see my back end quite often. :D

I would hope you could take a 300M. Those cars have a V8 300 HP motor but they are big as a 747.

You`ve got a V6 255 HP motor right?? Arn`t they stepping up the power yet again in next years model (2003)?

The 300M actually has a 3.5 litre V6 with 255 horsepower, I believe the special edition has more power, but with the extra cladding, xenon lights, and new suspension components, the added weight causes no change in performance. The 300 M is a pile of garbage compared to the maxima, sub-par materials through the cabin, misaligned panels straight from the factory, speaker grilles installed with no speakers behind them, etc. The main problem with the 300M is the terrible assembled rachetty 42LE transmission. This transmission is very sloppy with gear changes and i have seen brand new ones that wont even engage into reverse in cold weather(test drove one last winter). The setup on this car is also very odd, it has a longitudinally mounted motor (traditional RWD setup) however this car is a FWD vehicle. The transmission sits directly behind the motor(at the end of the dashboard) so that there are drive shafts coming out of the sides of the transmission directly to the wheels. This means the whole engine and front end sits ahead of the wheels causing the front end to sit very low and bouncy suspension movements, the overhang doesnt help either. We have a 95 dodge intrepid which has the same 3.5 litre motor(made only 214 horsepower in 95) and the same 42LE transmission. This transmission has been serviced(fluid change and filter) at 30K, rebuilt at 36K(yes right when the warranty was over), replaced at 57K, and then had to have a new torque convertor and front pump installed at 62K. The car now has 68K and still shifts very sloppy. I think the only reason they made the LH-cars (intrepid, concorde, 300M, LHS) with a longitudinally mounted engine is to make servicing and replacing the transmission easier on the technitions. Hey prinz, the reason the 300M couldn`t pass you was probably because the transmission slipped.

hahahah You better let that beast pass you, if you race, beat him and hit the brakes to stop I doubt the 300M can do the same thing in the same amount of time. All I can picture is this huge bot with locked up brakes sliding into the back of your car.

AlBoston - I wish I knew where they had 300 HP. I think it was on one of those billboards outside, this was over a year ago though....

See what I mean, look at this pic, the front end is SOOO LONG! That whole engine plus the torque convertor sit infront of the front axles. Those things just destroy themselves over time, a very short period of time.
