Has anyone tried polishing with this makita (link)

I went to lowes and this makita seemd so much easier to hold than the pc. It has adjustable dial speed. Would it be good for polishing?

I don`t know if it would work or not. It only has a 2 amp motor, I don`t think that would get the job done for most swirl removal, probably not enough torque or power. The motor in the PC is almost twice as strong as that Makita.



I don`t think the PC is that hard to work with. Try using a rotary for a little while and the weight of the PC will seem like nothing.

That has a pretty weak motor. It may be lighter than the PC but probably doesn`t have the needed power.

Its motor is more than twice the size of the PCs 7424. It isn`t orbital but I`ll get the job done. And after working with for a few hours you won`t have to work out that day :)

Just noticed this. They just got this Makita in and it is lighter than the PC!
