Introduction:
I’ve been a long time user of Meguiars APC + but with it only being sold in 5 gallons containers now I went in search of a replacement APC. To find a replacement isn’t as easy as one would think. If I were to only be using it on the exterior of the vehicle a lot of the things I needed to take into account for the replacement wouldn’t matter but that’s not the case. I use APC’s on interiors as much as I do exteriors so things like soapy residue that is hard to remove or an APC that creates a lot of foam or suds is not a good attribute to it working properly on an interior surface. So about a month ago while talking with a friend at Mothers on the topic of needing a new APC’s he informed me that Mothers in fact had what I needed along with a water based degreaser and asked if I would like to try them. Well I’m happy to say my search has ended. I have found my replacements for my interior and exterior cleaning needs. And as a bonus they’re in the price range I’m used to paying and now sold right here at ACC.
First up is the APC

Now for the proof of just how well they work. On both of these vehicles the APC was used at a ratio of 8:1 and the Degreaser was used at 4:1.
First up is the truck. The tools used were a Bissell LGM, various brushes and lots of MF towels.

There’s no arguing that this interior would put any cleaner to the test. If it can clean this mess then odds are it going to handle just about anything. So here’s how it did.

But if that wasn’t enough take a look at car #2. Dilution ratios were both still the same APC 8:1 and Degreaser 4:1. On car 2 a Firebird steamer was also used.

Thanks, hopefully I`ve answered what ever questions you had. about it.

Yes, this is the burning question!

Theres no burning question in my mind. My results and needs for an APC may be different from yours but it fits all my needs and the results speak for themself.

Incredible results on the seats and arm rest.....
Thanks Wendell these two vehicles were a great test bed. I`ve used it on quite a few cars and trucks over the month, you know what I`ve been doing and it worked great on all of them. I even used it on the tractor for the Solution Finish review.

Thanks for the review. I do not know the difference between an APC or degreaser since some APC`s mention they are a degreaser also.

So, an APC may be used as a degreaser but just not as good as a dedicated product? I am sure the chemistry is different do not know the reason behind it. Grease is oil based and suspect they make not work with soil as well?

Great write up and great pictures. That Buick interior was beat! I bet the owner had no idea it could clean up that well.

Incredible, beautiful, results !!!

Those interiors were hammered !!!

Super great work !

My Burning Question please - How did the Mothers APC Foam or not Foam up ?

Because as we know, Meguiars D103 is very low foaming, and another reason why it has always been so well liked by many...

Thanks for the time and effort you took to do the work, take pictures, edit, and post !

Al I think you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. While APC`s defiantly work on grease as you know you have to use them at much higher concentrate which becomes more expensive.
And on the flip side degreasers don`t work nearly as well as APC`s for dirt. That is why I used both of these products on these cars because they both had grease and dirt on them. One is a farm truck and the other belongs to a diesel mechanic. Couldn`t be one or the other they had to have both!

No I haven`t. Most times I use a very cheap APC for wells and tires LA Awesome

Thank you for the kind words. The Mothers APC had virtually no foam. Even after rinsing out the MF towels numerous times in a bucket of water the top of the water showed very little soap suds. It was very easy to rinse off of the seats using wet towels. I didn`t feel like I had to wipe and wipe to get it off. As I said in the beginning, that was one of my considerations in choosing an APC.
