Hey guys. I have a client that I am scheduled to clean 2 of his Mercedes. I go talking with him about the new coatings and Pinnacle Synergy letting him know the longevity of these products. He also has a really nice well kept 36ft 2012 Yellow Fin center console. He asked if I could find out if Cquartz could be used on his hull? So can it?

This pic is a twin to the color and size of his.

the main problem with gel coats is that they are very porous and can oxidize easily, so the idea of a coating for them is a great idea, but then again, the are very porous. as with anything detailing, prep is everything, and you`ll have a lot of prep to do an a 36 footer.
the folks over at optimum say that opti coat can be used on gel coat, but I couldn`t say how much it would take for a 36 footer (a lot) after a proper polishing. can`t say for sure about using cquartz. I think the next best option is using something like Marine 31 Gel Coat Carnauba Wax + Sealant (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/marine-31-sealant-wax.html#.U2ZSgZVOXcs)
marine 31 has some great marine products. (a part of pbmg too)

Was looking at marine 31 too. Also heard gtechniq c1 is good for gel coats. Luckily his boat is maintained really well and not oxidized.

I wonder if the friction is decreased enough to add speed :D

I might have to give this a shot on something smaller, say a 245 hp supercharged jet ski...
