I received a small container of DP Gingerbread wax with an order I placed back around Christmas sometime. I am just now getting around to trying this wax out.

The wax came in a small container, clearly labeled, and with instructions on the bottom to apply, let stand 10 minutes, then wipe away.

Due to the size and shape of the container I could not remove the wax from the tub. There is a lip around the treaded area for the screw cap that prevents the wax from popping out like a straight walled container allows for. I like to apply wax by machine so small things like straight walls on a wax container to allow removal of the wax are nice features.

The wax has a fairly hard consistency but it was still easy to load on the 5.5" pad. Scent is a bit different with this one, I`m not the biggest fan of it but luckily when applying I couldn`t really smell it so it was a none issue. Application was easy as this wax spread a long way, I only had to reload the pad twice for the entire car.

After 2 coats of wax 1 hour apart there is still a very good amount of wax left, not much of it was used.

Having a lot of rounded panels on my car I have a good opportunity to see the paint from a large variety of angles. In direct sun the wax appears to have brightened some of the paint but on the areas not perpendicular to the sun they appear a bit darker. The flake in the paint is more prominent and I`m thinking this is what is leading to the color difference effect.

There is some added gloss but I would not say this a wax to apply if you want a super glossy finish, its more of a depth wax than a glosser. I do like the way this wax makes the car look. The look and feel of a wax can draw out different emotions, some waxes make me want to cruise the town or show up to a cars and coffee with my paint all blinged out in a super glossy wax knowing that dripping wet glossy look draws attention - This is wax that makes me want to go drive in the hills with the top down powering through the curves while the light dances on the paint through the trees as I feel the rush of the wind on my face.

Great write up! I couldn`t agree more on your definition when comparing different waxes. Well said!

I haven`t noticed as much of a difference in waxes before, sometimes just a very subtle difference between wax A and wax B. Just prior to this wax I used a very glossy wax that I was testing out and it made me want to go show off the glossy paint on the car, similar to PBL but with a slight amount of depth to it that PBL doesn`t give.

This wax is very different to the previous one and maybe that helped me notice such a difference in the look of the paint after application.

My wife`s car is coated with PBL and I`m thinking of waxing her car with this wax soon to see how it looks over a glossy finish.
