Any Audi A6 owners out there? I`m in the market for a 2.8L Quattro. Anyone detailed one, have a friend that owns one or has anyone driven one? Any info a blessing, thanks in advance.

Nice car. BMW 5 series is better. IMO.

Never driven the A6, but I drove the S4. It was the V6 Twin Turbo mill. When I took it past the Mazda dealer, I saw the salespeople stand up to look, so Audis are appealing cars. I enjoyed driving the car, and I know people that own the A4 love the car. The only complaint that I`ve heard of is the repairs. When I spoke with the Audi salesperson about the repair record of the Audi, he said "people who have problems will always complain, while those that don`t have problems with their Audis do no complain, so the frequency of repairs is exagerated." It was kinda neat to be talking to a German guy named Otto about a German car, but his explanation didn`t make any sense. I think that if you buy the A6, you`ll enjoy it if you like to drive, but you should research its repair frequency. Just my $.02.

I have an `03 A4 1.8T. Luckily mine was made after the coil pack issues. My first German car, nothing but bliss so far.

Love the A4, plenty of aftermarket gear. Problem is I`m 6`2", 240lb and have a bady due in 4months. The A6 is in low demand and I can bag the extra wheelbase for the same price as a lot of A4 Quattro`s which is odd considering the new price difference.

Otto`s explanation is fair enough - we all know a whinger that does nothing else.

Fond of the German cars, japs can`t keep up with the quality or ride. Every ``````` and wanna-be ganster in Sydney owns a black 318. I just want to buck the trend.

I own a 2000 Audi A6 2.4l but have driven the 2.8l quattro.

They are a very smooth car, enough to beet a commodore, but the ride comfort, safety features, creature comforts, handling and styling make it no competition.

The Merc E class is a little too conservative and its little bigger than the BMW 5 series in my opinion.
