tranny fluid is lots of detergent and oil

sure the brakleen cleaned the tires :) before it ate em up

Ajax or Comet to clean tires (which actually works well)
Cheese Cloth to remove wax
"Simonizing"
News paper for windows (still an effective method)
I know I can think of more but right now I`m drawing a blank lol.

I`m guilty of both of these and still use Ajax/Comet regularly along with Bleche Wite (yes, that`s the way it`s spelled) by Wesley`s and a stiff nylon brush to clean brown tires. Caution is advised here, the Bleche Wite is tough on the lungs and when mixed with the Ajax is pretty nasty. Use in a well vented area. I haven`t found anything that will bring white back to a whitewall tire like this combination.

I still use whitewall cleaner on every car I do. I use Car Brite`s version, but its basically the same as Westlys. Never saw a reason to change it, but yeah the fumes are pretty stong.

guilty as well, I don`t need to use it in a well ventilated area...... I can cover those fumes up with a cigarette

I wish

With the stress of divorce etc, not gonna happen for a while. THen Jeff gets to take me to dinner. (hope he remembers that post) (I better look for it)

And I wonder how bad the smoke really is with all the asbestos from blowing out brakes, and in my mothers house as well as all the brakleen etc and gun solvents I have breathed all my life

I`m not sure why I was under that impression but thought I remembered reading it. I meant no offense. Be a worthwhile endeavor all the same. Seems to me that since you`ve survived a divorce you could do just about anything you set your mind to doing. :ra

2 years and it aint over yet, so not officially a survivor yet

And absolutely no offense taken. I really wish I could quit. And you might have read it in the past since I have tried to before
