So today I went to an Auto parts store, parked within the lines and when I come back to my van, a giant Chevy truck had parked next to me so close I couldnt get in from my drivers door. Literally there was about 4 inches between us.WTF!!

I was completely annoyed and began searching for the owner . I couldnt find him and decided to try to get in anyway and was amazingly (very uncomfortably )able to squeeze in my drivers door . I started to write the person a not so nice note but the owner had come back and started to back out. I motioned for him to roll down his window so I could complain to him about his parking!

He rolled down his window and I continued to complain that he left me no room to open my door.

He said"Well good thing your nice and thin" ( remember this line ;))

Said he was sorry and then asked me to please let him leave the parking lot.:D

Honestly it was a pretty funny exchange .

Remember this guys......when a woman is upset throw a compliment to her and the apologize and all will forgiven.

It wasnt all his fault because our parking spaces have become so small here that large vehicles cant fit betweeen the lines .Thats my real rant !

This is the second time this has happened to me!The other time I had to get in from my passenger door.

My second rant this week is after shopping at Trader Joes I leave the store and am approched by a woman who wants me to sign a petition. Something about building casinos on Indian land. I politely told her I wasnt going to sign and started to walk away. She blocked me with her body ,got in my face and started argueing with me about it.Good grief! I told her to leave me alone! When I got home I called the manager of the store and complained about this overly aggressive woman . The manager said they are within their legal rights to petition and theres nothing the store can do about it , even though its in their parking lot. He said the only thing I could do was ask a store manager to walk out with me so I wouldnt be harrassed.
BS if you ask me, stores dont have even have rights in their own parking lots!?

End of rants.

Thanks for listening!

When people do this or park in a compact parking spot, I simply back my car in making sure they must use their passenger door to get in their car. I also take pictures for insurance purposes if he decided to be a loser and dent my car on purpose. Sometimes Ill just let my fiancé out and stay in the car. That way when he gets back I get to see an awesome expression on someones face :) Here in Dallas there are a lot of parking lots that have parking spots for compact cars. People driving full size SUV`s try to park in them all the time. It gets super annoying. I used to have stickers that said stuff about their bad parking I would put on their window. Those ran out within a few months....

I had an incident like this recently where I came back and someone had parked the car inches away on drivers side. There was person in the passenger`s seat and I griped about it and they just said the driver went into the store. I am guess I am lucky they did not try to get out. My wife went through passengers side to back it out.

Yes, Virigina there are plenty of jerks in the world.

My biggest pet peeve is when I go ahead and park out in the boonies and even though I am way out in the parking lot and there are 432 empty spots around me I still get some DB that feels the need to park on top of my vehicle. Drives me nuts and makes me think they are just trying to be an a**hole. It times like this and what the OP described that I wish I drove a POS although 9 out of 10 times the cars parked like that are already loaded with door dings so they clearly don;t mind them.

You might appreciate this page on Facebook. It covers parking, driving and many other aspects of daily life that some people just don`t seem to understand.

i like the idea of stickers with smart ass remarks on them that you can slap on the driver`s windshield. they have to be the type of stickers that can`t be pulled off in one piece and must leave a glue swatch in place.

Happened to me a couple months ago, I`m a little fat so I couldn`t get in through the drivers door. I had to get in through the passenger door (not an easy feat in a 5 speed Jetta, lol). I waited for the guy and asked him to leave me a friggin` can opener next time so I can get in my car. The look on his face was priceless and he never did say anything.

At least 10 empty spaces all around me.He backs in next to me.

I saw him come out of the store and decided it wasnt worth getting into a hassle over. But then when I got home I noticed a ding in my door on my pristine 3 month old van !

I decided from then on not going to let things go like that and confront people even if it turns into an argument.

I felt much better saying something this last time. I got an apology and thats the best I could ask for.

Maybe next time he will think twice about parking to close to someone.

I think I may have embarrassed him as well as the people outside starbucks must have
witnessed the whole thing.

And Im pretty sure no man likes being confronted my an angry woman!

I feel ya. I don`t even waste my time with that whole mess. If I have to park in a crowded parking lot, I always park as close as I can near the curbs, or in the back where no one`s at, if worse comes to worse I will find a nice Mercedes or BMW to park next to. There`s too many idiots, too many little kids, and I love my truck way too much to have to deal with that mess...

That is inviting trouble Taco! A note on someones car or speaking to them in person is as far as I will ever take it.

Parking close in retaliation to me is like"2 wrongs dont make a right" to me ,though I cant say they dont deserve it.:D
