So I brought my car in for service today.

This is what I saw in the dealership/service area lot.

Inspires confidence.........

If that`s your own rim I`d have my name on that dealership sign.

WHAT?! Ya, I would have had to call some guys if that was my BMW... You KNOW that is doing damage to the car and possibly those rims.

Please God tell me there is a decent block of wood against that pinch weld under there! I mean it looks like there is, but it is VERY CLOSE to being not thick enough to keep the rim from bending the rocker panels!!!

Dollars to doughnuts the rims are junkers from the dealership. Looks like the entire axle/hub assembly is pulled/damaged though on the right side.

After running a flatbed towing service for 18 years I`m almost willing to bet the rollback put it there that way. I could drop a car with no wheels at all and never put a scratch on it. Couldn`t say that of my competition though! ;)

What I did hate once a year though was when the NOPI Nationals would show up at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Without FAIL, there would always be a hand full of cars that`d fail to start, (or blow their engine) while there and need to be towed out come Monday morning. Considering the local Mitsubishi dealership was my account, and the Eclipse is a HUGE NOPI type car I always ended up down there with guys taking their entire front end off so we could get the darned things on the truck. (What with them slammed to the ground and monster ground effects on them all.)

Funny how those guys would spend $35K in aftermarket parts, paint, and stereo`s then gripe about a $150 tow bill!

That`s ridiculous. Just another reason to hate going to the dealership.

I guess there is no technical reason that it does not work if they have the proper support across the wheel (nice block of wood) but sure looks amateur for a dealership. At least there is no risk of jackstands falling over.
