How do I deal with cracked paint. The car in question is 1974 TR6 that was repainted in 1986 single stage. The customer is just looking to get cleaned up. Any help would be great.

"crows feet" are really tough to deal with.
Be careful with polish and wax etc, because it can get into the cracks and harden and turn white.

Good luck sir

My plan is rinseless wash and than use nanoskin sponge. After that use meg 205 to clean up the paint and seal it with. zaino Z3.

from the knowledge i have of this is that it was that the paint or primer was layed on too thick when it was done, it then shrinks and cuases that. i dont know much about single stage paint but ik when i have painted fiberglass speaker boxes this can happen. not much you can do but let the customer no, he may be happy to here that it wasnt his fault.

without a paint thickness meter, i`d be afraid to even think about wet sanding that mess.

I`d be afraid of the nanoskin sponge. YOu pick up a corner or edge of that paint, you gonna be sorry.

IMHO, I would do a good cleaning, polish gently with a chemical cleaner such as PB pro polish and then go to a wowa sealant like BFCM

I have heard the same that primer or paint was put on too heavy

last time i touched a 74 tr6 was in 1978 trying to troubleshoot a starting problem to impress a girl. 2 1/2 days later with my older brother helping the whole time i bought a engine diagnostic tool (very expensive back then) and found out it was a small washer grounding the whole system. ugh vowed never to touch one again. didn`t get the girl either. stay away from old Triumphs!
