Trying to help my friend out. I got a PC 7424 with all LC pads except the purple wool one. We hit it first with megs fine cut on yellow, scratches remained. Then we did medium cut on yellow, and some scratches still remain. Now I have held off on having him get the ultra cut because on my car years back I used 3M medium cut and that worked amazing. I looked for it now, but it seems like 3M changed their stuff up.

So what I am asking is:

1) What 3M product would you recommend I use for this with a PC7424?

2) Or do you think I shoudl stick with megs and go with ultra cut.

3) What is the best setting on the PC for these compounds?

Here are the before and after pics but in the after pic, there are more scratches remaining that are shown in the pic. Its a 2004 Chevy Suburban, Black.

If you want to stay with Meg`s, M101 seems like the logical choice. It has the latest in abrasive technology fomulated for DA use. There are other great compounds out there as well, Menzerna FG400 comes to mind.

I`ve had good luck with Megs M101, Lake Country 5.5" orange flat pads and a 5" backing plate.
PC speed setting 6 with enough pressure so that the backing plate spins slowly. Slow arm speed.

The after pic looks like you are making good progress. Are you trying to remove the remaining deep scratches?

Yes, I am trying to remove the remaining scratches. Maybe I`ve just hit the limit for what my current setup can accomplish?
