I like using back-to-black type products on exterior black plastic, but it typically runs once it rains, putting nasty streaks on the paint. I limit its use to only those areas on the bottom of the vehicle.

Is there any product that is water-proof once it drys?

Thanks,
LT

There are a couple of products that work really well.

TUF SHINE Black Restore (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/tuf-shine-black-restore-kit.html)
Bondo Restore Black (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/bondo-restore-black.html)
Solution Finish (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/sf-bbb12.html)

There are also quartz based coatings that can last up to 2 years.
Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/gtechniq-c4-trim-coating.html)
CarPro Cquartz Dlux Plastic & Wheel Coating (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/cquartz-dlux.html)

I`ve used Chemical Guys products on the exterior trim and they seem to run when it rains too. Get question and thanks to Todd for the answer. I will probably get the Tuff Shine in my next order.

I would suggest looking into CarPro Dlux. It has a 6-12 month claimed durability and has the properties of the newer coatings. It works on plastic as well as rubber & headlights.

Poorboys World Trim Restore.

That said your application and streaking might be the real problem. If you are not using a clean cotton towel to buff the plastics after you`ve applied the product, it might be the reason it streaks.

I`ve used CG Black on Black and it works great. I never noticed any running.

I just tried solution finish and I am very happy with the results and ease of use. It`s a little expensive but so far it seems to be worth it
