Threw on another layer of Dodo Blue Velvet today from the 30ml panel pot, but this time I tried using the Dodo SN Finger Mitt instead of a standard yellow foam applicator.
Likes:
The Finger Mitt is a really soft foam, and picks up the hard wax well even from the small opening of the 30ml pot. I would say that if anyone is interested in applying a paste wax by hand (i.e. not using a DA), then the Finger Mitt is probably one of the best there is, for the following reasons:
1) Soft foam = less likely to leave wax marring marks
2) Fits over 3 fingers comfortably, meaning much less finger fatigue because you don`t have to grip it and get cramps in the weirdest parts of your hand. This is the main advantage IMO
3) Can slip into hard to reach areas like emblems, between handles and bodywork and under the mirrors.
Dislikes:
1) Price; it`s not cheap but quality wise it`s definitely going to last
2) White foam that stains easily; if you use any Dodo color charged wax, be prepared to live with funny colored mitts for the rest of its useful existence.
Unknowns:
1) Works well with paste wax as it`s not easily absorbed into the sponge and starts coating your fingers. Not sure how it works with liquid waxes and sealant, and I wouldn`t want to wear a sealant soaked mitt for an hour (eczema/dermatitis prone)
