Recently my red 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor I was driving ran into a Chevy Prism. We hit at around 10 mph and nobody was hurt. The girl pulled out of a stop sign before it was safe and I skidded into her.

The damage is being repaired a one of the best shops in Lancaster. I believe the nose and left fender are being replaced.

The question is, how long after getting the car back can I detail and are there any precautions? Usually I use AIO and PPP. I also clay the car occasionally if its needed.

I have another week before I get it back I think.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hope everyone is fine Tom and I would ask the paint shop on how long you should wait before polishing that area. But I always say wait 45-90 days before any type of compounding or polishing on a fresh painted area from a body shop.

I concur with Zoom ask the shop for their recommendations. Should something go wrong and you haven`t followed there guidelines, they might not want to fix it

Thanks. I was thinking that was the best course.
