Car has been washed, pinnacle ultra clayed, then washed again. The car is brand new, from the look of this pad, the clay left a lot behind. Your thoughts? Prior to this I used an orange pad with menzerna super polish. This white pad was used with menzerna super finish.

What color is the car? Is it possible that it has a tinted clear coat? I know that it is very popular now.

The car is red. I didn`t know they tinitwd clear coat. Its tough to tell in the picture but the color reminds me of using mineral spirts to remove tar. I thought the redish tint was staining from pad cleaner. The pad looks more brownish the color of a cigarette filter after its been smoked.

I may have to submit a better picture. The white walls and stationary tub all have a red tint to them in the photo. Maybe the Reveal flood lights affecting the color. Really looks more brown/tan in real life. I uaed my cell phone as I walked out the door this am.. may not have been the best choice.

It appears there is a Race Red with std clear coat, and a Red Candy Metallic with tinted clear coat.

From the pic it looks a lot like tinted clear.

However, if it more a brown/tan color, as you suggest, that it seems that their was still some contamination on the clear coat. If you have a fresh (unstained pad) re-polish a section and see if you get anymore color transfer. If you are still getting transfer (after polishing and cleaning the paint) then it is definitely the clear-coat. If it polishes with out any staining, then it was contamination.

Looks like tinted clear. The brownish color could be a result of mixing with the color of the polish.

I have some white LC pads that are stained by the polish (menzerna). Just a thought.

Edit: Never mind, just looked at them, not the same color. I`m going with transfer from CC too.

If I don`t remove all the scratches I keep finding I will polish right through the clear coat.

I also have a Red Candy 2010 Mustang GT and I agree that the tinted clear will transfer to the pad.
