My baby brother will be getting his license in a few months and wants a new car. I tool him to look yesterday since dealers were closed and we could look with out bein bothered. He would like a truck or a Jeep Wrangler in black of course.

We stopped by the local Chevy dealer and looked around. On the stickers of all the new cars I saw where they tack on for tint and "quantum" sealant. They can`t be serious with the prices they want to charge. On the reg. cab truck he liked they were tacking on $499 for tint and $999 for the sealant. To tint 3 windows and charge $499 is just stupid and $999 for a sealant is insane.

We also looked at used cars and these dealerships have some really hack detailers. One Jeep we looked at had compound spatter everywhere and on the driver door it looked like someone rubbed an SOS pad on spots and then buffed over it. Hologram city! To charge so much and have it look like junk

:rofl

The tint place I usually use would`ve charged $150 for that job!

Exactly what I said! I think I paid $100 on my old truck and my mom`s car was $150 which was the last car I had done. 3 windows for $500 is nuts

This is tricks that dealerships use to screw people. Simple as that. Luckily Ive never worked for a dealership that does that to people, but there are MANY out there that do. Car Brite has this "total protection" thing thats "just for dealerships" that includes a coat of their paint sealant, fabric protection, interior dressing, and so forth. The dealerships can buy all of this for less than $100 bucks and charge over $500 PER CAR. Its a scam plain and simple.
