My car came with some cheap small OEM mats. I just ordered some MacNeil Weathertech floor mats. I haven`t seen any in person, only on the Web, so I hope I like `em. They are heavy duty rubber. Do people typically spray these with protectant like 303 Aerospace? Or is another product preferred? Spray both sides?

Thanks.

Rob,

You`ll love the Weathertech mats. Very nice.

The only problem with strying rubber mats with protectant is that they will show foot prints. Whatever you apply, it needs to dry clear and streak free on its onw, or you`ll sped forever wiping it out of the grooves. Stoner Interior Spray might work pretty good: http://www.properautocare.com/morshinlesti1.html (`http://www.properautocare.com/morshinlesti1.html`)

I`ve had good results using Meguiar`s # 40 on the OEM all weather rubber mats in my Acura. Apply liberally, and buff dry. Leaves a nice matte sheen and no streaking.

I just switched to some new mats for my truck. I pick up lots of dirt and mud from construction sites so I didn`t want anything with ribs because the mud gets in there and it is more difficult to remove it.

This is what I ended up buying. I wash them with a scrub brush then I use Vinylex on them to keep the mud from sticking. :xyxthumbs

Soak them with a hose, shake out the excess water and spray them down with a few sprays of 303. Let it sit for a few minute, rinse off and air dry. Comes out perfect.
