Does anyone know where I can get a velcro backing plate and accessories for the PC 7424 polisher in Canada? I would be happy with either a Canadian retailer or a retailer in the US that would ship to Canada.

Thanks

Howard.

Howard,

Let me know if you need one. I am also going to a local store tomorrow to pick up one for my PC (I lost mine) and can pick one up for you. I can then send it to you...let me know.

I`ll just charge you for the cost of the item plus the shipping ($2.00).

Let me know

The Detailing Depot has them...and all other supplies that you need. They are in Costa Mesa, near the 55 and Newport Blvd.

Canadian tire sells them. I`ve seen them with my own eyes. They also sell the PC7424 for 229.99. I`m not sure about the counter weight though...

Edit: My last sentence was screwed up. I meant that I wasn`t sure about the counter weight, not backing plate. Backing plate they have for sure.

Ron, thanks for the heads up about Northern shield carrying the backing plate. I`ll give David a call when I finally get my PC.

Northern Shield in Burlington carries them.

I just Emailed Dominion Sure Seal which is the Canadian Distributor for Meguiars with the same question. When I hear from them I`ll post the response.

I`m going to the shop in about an hour...last chance to let me know if you want me to pick up a velcro backing plate for you. Cost is about $10-12 USD from what I remember. Shipping is $2 to you.

Email me huydvu@hotmail.com (``) or give me a call, 714.609.4655 to let me know.

These are the 5 inch velcro backing pads that you can use with the Meguiar`s foam pads.

In going through my emails this morning, I run across a few, (as always) that are bogus. You know what I`m talking about. The morons that want to send out SPAM or some other such garbage meant to do harm or at least be a nuisance. The two I received today were really special? the first was labeled from "FedEx Global". It of course had an attachment. It went on to inform me of a ?shipment? that had not made it to my intended recipient. At first glance it looked legit until I read through it carefully noticing that it had been addressed to jacobus@ proper??.. Jacobus? And the composition was a bit juvenile. The attachment was the really sneaky thing. It was labeled as a .jpg The message said the errant shipment was at my ?local post office? and I should print the attached postal label and take it there to collect! WOW! Very sneaky they made the attachment look like a .jpg.

The second was even better. It showed as being from a customer that I have had a few email exchanges with and the Subject was ?Hello? which this person may have used in an email to me. I recognized the name and though it was from him until I looked at the email and noted it was sent to a lot of people and only contained one of those pesky links ending in .ru (From Russia I believe). WOW is this one sneaky. I have been told that a friend o mine had the unpleasant experience and misfortune to visit a certain detailing site that is supposedly infected with a number of viruses and the following day everyone on his ?Hot Mail? mailing list received such an email. Maybe I am on ?Jason?s? list and he also went to this sight.

Pay attention to what you are opening and where you go on the web. These people are VERY SNEAKY.

Be careful.

Yup, I`ve received that "FedEx Global" and bogus UPS ones, too. One way to see the emails is not NOT view as HTML - use plain text view only. Of course it helps if you understand a little about HTML...
