I used Xenit to clean some scuff marks off my interior panels. Do the chemicals in Xenit remove the plasticizers, and damage or reduce the life of the vinyl?

and as long as i dont press/rub to hard....and dont use too much product...it went fine....there was a time on my door sill that i was so intent on getting this cuff mark out that i used like 1/4 of the can and rubbed really hard...with an MF towel...the scuff came out but i started to see alittle abrasion on the sill...like it was coming up a little....too much macho!!:D ....anyway...wrote an email to Stoners asking them about it....lets see???

I had to do a good bit of rubbing to remove the scuff marks. Any idea what active chemicals are in Xenit?

Thanks for the inquiry - and I apologize for the late response - we had some

e-mail problems. Xenit Citrus can be plastic-sensitive - it is a very

strong product. Please read the can completely and always test first for

compatibility and color-steadfastness. We also make some water-based

cleaners that would be a bit safer for solvent sensitive materials. Thank

you again and sincerely, Susan Burch

really didnt answer my question about specific plasticizers...i guess you have to try it in a little place and find out for yourslef...

give any information that is not already on the label. Since we know it will damage some plastics the question becomes how do you tell if a material is vinyl or plastic. Sometimes it is easy, yet there are materials in my interior that I am not sure if they are vinyl or plastic.

im a little jealous of the Bimmer guys because it seems like they have alot of great sites with awesome info...very detailed about the exact make-up of almost evry part of the car.....that is very ncool....im sure somebody will post a `simple " etst for differentiating plastic/vinyl....

Luster, I know you go to a lot of Vette shows and stuff, you ever see this guy? I believe it`s a mix of a 53 and a 03. I drove around it a few times, it`s just freaky looking, but the body lines are perfect, it`s goofy looking, but it`s VERY well done!

The year I went to Barrett Jackson in West Palm, the manufacturer had a display and was taking orders.
