Anyone know of a good website devoted to what fits vehicles and installation tips per vehicle? Like Crutchfield but better?

Thanks so much. To me the sound of great car system is nearly as important as its ride. Almost!

About 5 or 6 years ago I became interested in upgrading the sound system in my car, purely by accident I started corresponding with some guys who do the (“sound off†?) competitions, although my knowledge was almost non existent, I did have a lot of experience in domestic HiFi.

It turns out that one of the issues where folk go wrong is to install over complex multi speaker systems. Human ears are sensitive to the location of sound (although there is a need for some cross talk – which is why headphones are not as satisfactory as normal speakers), so be careful about an installation that give you 12 speakers without digital control for delay.

Sorry for these mad ramblings but it is to easy to spend money and end up with poor sounds.

You are correct LJ, thats why I carefully "aim" each speaker during an install. Rarely can you just slap a new speaker in the stock mounting location and have it perform up to its potential. After everything is properly aimed I then tweak it with digital sound alignment.
