Headlight Correction - Saved me $180!!!

It is good stuff , it works as good as Mother`s and 3M.

Automagic clay is excellent! They have two colors of clay, a red and a blue. The red is more "aggressive". Their web site is

I have a bar of CLay Magic Blue and Mothers Yellow. I must say the Magic is better. Easier to use.



There are several posts about clays. I suggest a quick search and you may find out more information. Most of the posts also talk about other brands.

A big thank-you to those of you who have posted your techniques for headlight corrections. You saved me $180!!

I had the wife`s car in to the dealer for some routine maintenance and the service rep tried to sell me on letting them clean and polish the headlamps since, as he said, they were in pretty tough shape - for $180!! I thanked him for the concern and told him I would think about it.

After reviewing the posts I took on the job myself:

Clay using Blackfire
M105 two passes orange CCS Pad
M205 one pass black CCS Pad
Klasse Sealant

There are a few small pits I can remove with sanding but not enough there yet to worry about them. All in all it took about 20 minutes to get everything out, do the work, and clean up. That`s a pretty good use my time to save $180! :Dancing Dot:

They turned out great! The worst ones I`ve done seem to be on Pontiac Grand Ams. They not only get dull, but they also yellow badly.

But I`ve always been able to correct them with some time and effort...

I have done some headlight correction with 105/205 and it works great. Nice turn around.

So true Flash! I would not have known how to approach this if it had not been for all the great expertise shared here.

And yes she was very happy. I tied to get her to pay me the $180 the dealer wanted to charge her, but she suggested I have already spent that on all my detailing supplies. :huh: Oh well. It was worth a try.:)

Remember you can load up on some nice detailing supplies at PAC...:rolleyes:, I`m glad to see you save some dinero on during it yourself! More power to you:thumbup:
