Will orange peel be more visible when all swirls are gone?

Has anyone used any of the waxes from Collinite, such as the Super Doublecoat detergent proof wax, or the Liquid Insulator wax that is supposed to protect against fires and explosions? :)Someone mentioned it at the VWvortex forum, and they sound like they produce decent if not good protectants.

Has been around for a while and is a quality product. Not a lot of "hype", just good chemistry and does as advertised.

I used the #845 Insulator Wax before I switched to Zaino. Collinite beaded H2O unlike anything I have ever seen before, including Zaino and Klasse. It didn`t give quite the shine I was looking for that is the only reason I switched to Zaino. I agree with Ron, good product! :D

I used the Insulator wax over 2 - 3 coats of Klasse SG on a 2001 Toyota Tacoma (red) and 2001 Honda Accord (Black). The stuff goes on extremely easy. In fact I called the company wondering if it I was getting a strange reaction with the Klasse it was going on sooo easy. Great discussion with them - and no problem that`s the way it goes on.



I did this a few weeks ago - the vehicles still look great. They do bead water quite well.



Unfortuantely, I don`t have much to compare too, since before this I took my cars to the car wash (are they bad words on this forum?)



BTW, I used Klasse on a 95 Windstar that had gone through years of car washes and reflected it. The Klasse did a great job. However based upon comments from the Klasse folks and their new products, I`m not sure if I`m going to put a top coat of wax.

I have talked with this guy http://www.dccarcare.com (`http://www.dccarcare.com`) he even prefers it to Blitz. I believe he gave a can away because he liked the Collinite so much better. Interesting site in my opinion, some solid car care tips too!:up

if you decide to give Collinite`s a try, apply it in very thin coats. You should get 8-10 coats or so per bottle. I applied it on paint, wheels and glass and it worked very well. Good luck.

I believe they came out with a QD. From what I read on the forum you can`t use it over wax. I figured that I would skip the wax step, stick with just Klasse, AIO, SG and QD.:)

I believe one of the regulars here on the Forum, was going to use the Collonite wax last spring, and let us know how he liked it. Glad to see that it`s a good product. Maybe he will post on this thread.

I removed all of the swirls off one pannel of my 04 corvette (0riginal paint)
and the orange peel seems more pronounced.

If the gloss of the paint was increased dramatically then yes... The increase in reflection will highlight the distortion slighlty and under certain lighting the surface can appear less level. It is amazing how the imperfections in the paint become when the car his highly polished; everything sticks out like a sore thumb!

I am always shocked at how many things I find wrong with OEM paint :(. The good news is that you are obviously doing the right thing with your polisher :D

Unfortunately I have not found ANY OEM paint that is without orange-peel. Most of Jesse`s pics illustrate the point (virgin paint only, no wetsanding).:D

Corvettes are by far the worse for orange peel IMPO and are extremelly hard to wetsand :out:

Last weekend I saw some minor swirls in the rear left quarter panel .
I hit it hard today with menz power gloss yellow pad . Then white pad and SIP . It seems like the deeper I dig into the clear , the better the paint looks . I don`t polish a panel if it doesn`t need it however .
