Is there a cure time for the AIO too ?

If the cure time for the SG is 24hrs.. does that mean you can`t drive the car around ?

What if you drive it and get it dusty or dirty between SG coats ? Do you have to wash the car and apply the next SG coat ?

You can drive the car as soon as you buff off the SG. If the car does get dirty between coats you may wash the car than recoat , if the car is only dusty you can QD the car with a non Carnauba QD and than recoat. The only time you need to think about the cure time is when you are going to layer the SG , i thank the cure time is a bit longer than 24 hrs somthing like 48hrs , I like to wait about a week just to be safe. You can recoat Klasse in the same day for a better look and more shine, but i don`t think you will be layering it.

can you clay the car between layering SG?

Actually, about 20 minutes is long enough to wait for the SG layers to harden/bond. If you go a few days or a week (or any time, really), you just wash & dry the car as you normally would, and then have at it.

I did AIO & SG over 2 days without any obvious problems. Take a look at the instructions I wrote out about Klasse application. See: http://216.147.22.29/forum/showthread.php3?threadid=1143 (`http://216.147.22.29/forum/showthread.php3?threadid=1143`)

NO way SG crosslinks and cures fully in only 20 minutes....no polymer can with out a chemical catalyst. Where did you get that info?

Klasse curing takes a minimum of 24 hours (California/Arizona climate). If you don`t wait overnight, your Klasse SG will gum up.

Interesting...I did not have any difficulties with gumming. Being March in South Florida, it was in the low 80`s. So just a little less than Arizona temps.

It`s a crap shoot. What david is saying that if you don`t allow it to cure, you are basically interfering with the crosslinking by adding another coat premature. KLASSE contains solvents that will soften up the previous layer if not allowed to cure. Now if you did a back to back coat, you would not accomplish ANYTHING in terms of layering, and probably would not experience "gumming" because it would be just like applying a new coat as curing has just begun. But if you applied it say....half way between the full cure time, you might see this softening and gumming as a result of interfering with the cure. After the full cure, it will in fact layer.

I followed <strong class=`bbc`>jimwh[/b]`s instructions, ie I applied 2 coats of SG within 20-30 (maybe 45) minutes of each other. No gumming.

I`m in southeast VA (Virginia Beach) and the temps were in the high 80`s to low 90`s, with about 85-95% humidity on the weekend I did the work.

It`s been a week now, and I`m getting ready to do another coat of SG on my car as we speak, errr ... type.

You ARE suppose to clay the car before the AIO right ??

I didn`t clay, but I also had a car that was new off the truck. I did a thorough wash and went from there. If the car was any older or "previously owned" then I would certainly consider claying.

You can clay the car before applying the AIO. A good test is to wash and dry the car. Then, run your hand on the paint. If it does not feel super smooth, and you feel little bumps and grit then clay the car. Claying in combination with the AIO will make the paint ultra smooth.

what abot the apearence side of it. I layered SG imediately and it looked noticably better...

With Klasse I really did not start to notice the shine until my second coat of SG. I was rather unimpressed with just one coat, you get the best results with 2 or more coats of SG. 3 coats of SG seems to be the magic number for a lot of people.

I wait 24 hrs between each coat of SG just to be safe.
