Hi, I`m a new poster on this message board.

I have a 2002 Subaru WRX in the platinum silver metallic colour. I`d like to know of a good way to fix paint chips because the car seems to be a rock magnet.

I`ve followed the instructions from this homepage on repairing the chips but I didn`t get good results. After applying the touch up paint and sanding it down with 2000grit, I think either the touch up paint all came off, or it turned into an off color. This process even left the surrounding area a dull colour because it took off the clearcoat. Luckily I fixed it temporarily by applying some clear nail polish which brought that part back to the original color. The chips are still there though.

The bodyshop that I`ve asked has said that the only way is to repaint the whole panel because it`s hard to match up by just touching up. I really don`t want to spend the money on repainting whole panels for a few chips.

Please help... thanks.

The owner decided he just wanted to go with a wash/clay/wax. The car was not in that bad of shape at all before. The owner never lets the car get dirty because he hardly ever drives it, and the car had barely any swirl marks since he never washes it since it never gets all that dirty. so I have after pictures only.

Well, you do excellent quality work... shouldn`t be hard to start with those kind of referrals!

Very nice work indeed. The E55 has to be one of the most popular AMG models to ever hit the streets.
