I have been using P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo and am thinking of trying Pinnacle or Sonax. I have seen numerous posts on Pinnacle but very few on Sonax. I always thought Pinnacle shampoo was too expensive but realized it`s only about $.70 per oz if you buy the 64 oz size. Comparatively the P21S is about $.53 per oz. In addition some have claimed that an oz of Pinnacle will last as long as two oz of P21S. Based on this, Pinnacle appears to be the better value.

Any recommendations? Can you really use less Pinnacle per wash vs P21s? How does Sonax compare?

Sunstar, welcome. You seem like a well informed newbie (strange) but regardless welcome. It seems that we can all learn from your testimonials as much as you can learn from ours.

I was skeptical with Pinnacle Bodywash also. However, I ran out of my over the counter stuff and wanted to try something different. I also wanted supposedly the best, so I went for it. It was probably one of the better $16 I`ve spent. Everytime I wash my car it feels like I just blitzed it.

(sorry Henry) but I also discovered a new way to use a foaming despenser to supply endless foam. (`http://autopia-carport.com/forum/showthread.php3?threadid=2486`) I now use less than a teaspoon per full washing of my car each week.

The P21 and Pinnacle shampoos are two of my favorite car shampoos. Of these two, I`d have to say that I like the Pinnacle wash a bit better. You use much less product with the Pinnacle wash and the Pinnacle wash lathers up or foams up a bit more. Great shampoo in my opinion. Laters.

Invest in the Pinnacle - you won`t regret it

the SONAX wash is a very good product but had disappeared from the scene for a while due to labelling problems for the stuff exported to the US market. I guess the problem has been rectified `cause the product is back.

This "best" car wash issue is quite subjective I have decided. I alternate between many different shampoos and am indecisive as to which is "best". I may be leaning towards the Pinnacle product <em class=`bbc`>if[/i] purchased in the gallon size. (Yes, Don has influenced this statement)

The SONAX is cheap relative to the other boutique products we sample. I would suggest getting yourself a bottle and trying it. I doubt you will be unhappy with it.

FWIW=> The SONAX shampoo is Larry Reynold`s (car care specialties) personal favorite. see his notes at his site!

Good luck and watch those bubbles!!

Tom,

I think Larry says that about them all, look at the P21s Bodywork Shampoo.. it says "this is by far our favorite car wash".. or something similar.

Today I detailed this 07 Ford Escape. The paint was in good shape but the interior was pretty dirty. I decided to polish the paint with a tangerine hydro-tech pad. This is the first time that I had a chance to use this pad for a full detail. I was really happy with how this pad paired with 205 performed. I used my PC using KBM. LSP was Meguiar?s #26 paste wax. I really like this wax for metallic paint. It really gives the paint a nice pop.
The sun was starting to go down so I wanted to take advantage of the light while I could. I was not finished with the job but I wanted to see how it looked.

A couple shots outside after I finished the polishing and applying the wax. I wish I couple have had more sunlight when I was 100% complete.

Nice job

I like M26 as well, I have only tried the liquid version, is the paste just as easy to apply and does it dry clear?

the paste is not as easy to remove as some other waxes that I have tried. Going on it is OK I would say it dries hazy but not clear. Maybe I should try the liquid if it is more "user friendly"
