To all of you who use carpet extractors, what is the procedure you use; is scrubbing with a brush necessary, and how are your results?

Thanks

When I detail an interior, I "play the drums" on the carpeting. I will pound the carpet area with the palms of my hands and watch the sand and dirt come to the surface, where it can be vacummed easily. I will also use a brush to help bring any sand and dirt left in the carpet (especially under the pedals) up to be vacuumed. I then a spray bottle with carpet shampoo solution and lightly mist the carpet area, brush it if it`s matted down and then I use my extractor on it. The carpeting comes clean. I save a "sample" from the extractor to show the client what was in the carpeting...sometimes they are amazed!

same procedure i use...its a good one to follow, exept if you have an air blower use that before you vacuum. -Brad H

Anyone know where I can get Dawn Power Dissolver?? I`ve tried a few Wal-Marts in my area and have had no luck.

Thanks!

I know the local walmarts carry them and just about any major food chain store does. You should be able to find where they keep the detergent`s.

Yeah, I got mine in Walmart, but I`m sure Target would be a good spot or any of your local grocery stores.

If your using it to clean your pads, then I recommend using Snappy Clean. Snappy Clean is specially formulated to removed the old/use polish and compound residues without affecting the glue that is bonded between the pad and your backing backing, and we do have them in stock if you need some; http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo.net/snclpadclpo.html
