I`ve tried using 3M Swirl Remover (39009) and the Mequiars Scratch-X to try an remove some fine scratches mostly visible on my hood and trunk lid.

Neither helped. I tried (in all in a matter 14 days) 4 coats of 3M Swirl Remover and 2 coats of Scratch-X. i had originally tried only 2 coats of 3M`s Swirl Remover but after reading BillNorths` thread on his experience with the 3M Swirl remover I reapplied 2 more and followed that with the Scratch-x.

I don`t have swirls or spider webs. Just fine lines that look like scratches that I cannot feel with my finger nail but I can see.

What`s next up the aggresivity ladder? Has anyone tried the Turtle Wax Scratch Remover (in the green can). Is it any good or too agressive? Any suggestions?

Thanks. This is really starting to bug me and want these lines out.

I still haven`t heard a good report about 3M`s SMR.

I say cut to the chase and get some 3M Perfect It Fine Cut Rubbing Compound. This will get your scratches out.

That Meguiar`s Scratch X and the Turtle wax is for Joe Consumer. The 3M product is for pro`s.

The Perfect-IT 2 "Rubbing Compound -Fine Cut" : #39002

The Finesse-IT 2 "Finishing Material Machine Polish": #39003

FI2 is recommended for machine applications. PI2 by hand.

Which should I try first (and hopefully last?)

Well me girl has had my car for about 3 weeks while I was working on hers and it hadn`t been washed at all durring that time. I drove me nuts driving in it to work dirty this morning and over lunch time I just HAD to run it through the wash. I will be doing my winter prep on it this weekend so no big deal. :D

Do I have to say a few words like Carnauba, Blackfire, or PAC?
