My friend and I AIO`d his 01 BMW 530i (he told me he feels that he`s been mistreating his car while he was using Klasse) and then we SG`d it.

It was in the 80`s, but we were in a closed garage. Removal took a lot of elbow grease, QD, and it required a lot of re-swiping w/MFT`s cause it was greasy/streaky.

I did the same to my 01 VW GTI last week and it was cake.

Why is that?

Thickness of application, humidity, drying time and brand of towel all make big differences in the "polishing off" stage. I imagine these were all part of the difference.

Must be the drying time and humidity.

Everything else was the same.

As much as I like PAC and would like to spend every last penny there... sometimes time/funds do not allow.

Where do you guys go for a good selection of OTC products? We have in our area the usual AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts, O`Reilly`s and Pep Boys. Any suggestions?

All I`ve really bought over the counter is Stoner`s Invisible Glass, Soner`s Tarminator and Eagle A2Z Wheel Cleaner (which I actually use to clean tires). Some applicators here and there but that`s about it.

I like going to Advance Auto Parts. And Walmart for certain things.

I`ll go to AutoZone or Murray`s (recently changed to O`Reilly`s) - but only for things such as wheel cleaner, shop towels, 3M Adhesive Remover, etc. The rest, I order from PAC or, occassionally, Griots Garage.

I find that for OTC products, PEP Boys is by far the best. They even carry SCG.

I use Duragloss car shampoo, top notch and there 921 QD, both from Carquest. If I had to, in a pinch, use OTC polshes etc, Carquest would be my choice. Carquest carries 3M, Presta and Duragloss, if they don`t have it in stock, they can have it the very next day, whatever you want from all 3 product lines.

We have Advance Auto and AutoZone here in Roanoke. I can find all of the Meguiar`s OTC products at one or both of these stores. AA also carry M07 and M26. Both stores also carry Stoner`s Invisible Glass, as does WalMart.

AutoZone carries CD2 Engine Detailer.

We also have a NAPA store, which carries the Stoner products or at least are willing to order them. I called them up and asked about Tarminator, Trim Shine, and More Shine. They didn`t have them in stock, but got them in for me within two days.

Bumper to Bumper is willing to order many of Meguiar`s professional line products. They also have some of the Duragloss products, as well as Mother`s Reflections line.

Also check out Amazon.com. They sell the Reflections line, with free shipping ($25+).
