This customer wanted his oxidized headlights restored. (same customer who wanted engine detailed).

He said, "I want a quick job, I`m selling the car! I don`t want to spend much money."

PROCESS:

Taped around headlights
Wetsanded with 800, then 1000
Polished with PC/M105/4" orange pad
Polished with PC/M205/4" orange pad
One coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond
Done

20 minutes - 50 dollars

Thanks Guys..... If you want to spend more time wet sanding and polishing, they can look brand new. This was a quickie.;)

here are some I took a little more time with...probably about 45 minutes for the pair. I used a headlight resto "kit", can`t remember the name now. It had attachments for a drill chuck w/ a 3" velcro backer and an array of pads and polishes from a sanding disc to remove the heavy stuff all the way up to a UV protectant to reapply when you are done w/ all the polish steps. This helps the headlight retain the "new" appearance and retards the same thing happening again.

Yeah, the first time I did this, I was scared to death!!! I was thinking... "If I screw this up I`ll be buyin` new headlights!!!":banghead:

But the more I do, the more comfortable I am with it.

The tricky ones are the headlight pods that have clearcoat failure. :cursing:
